About Us
Beach Elementary School serves the town of Chesapeake Beach in Calvert County, Maryland. We are located within the town's corporate limits. The original portion of the building was opened in 1954 with two later additions in the 1970's and 1980's. The BES campus is nearly ten acres in size and includes a forest and nature trail that is adjacent to the Fishing Creek wetlands. We are within a half mile's walking distance of the Chesapeake Bay and Bayfront Park. Our unique location lends itself well to promoting environmental education. We are a Maryland Governor's Green School.
Approximately 50 professional and support staff members serve the 525+ students that are enrolled in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth.
Our school's program is centered on 6 priority areas that include:
- Student Achievement
- Student Promotion
- Staff Development
- School, Family, and Community Partnerships
- Environmental Education
- Safe and Orderly Environment for Learning
